Taking years of training, this designation is granted by the National Kitchen & Bath Association and represents the highest level of excellence and achievement attainable in the kitchen design profession. Only a select group of expert designers ever attain this designation. Being that the kitchen is the most technically complex room in your home, there is an enormous amount of knowledge and experience required to become certified. Not only does a CKD have to know kitchen design, cabinetry, ergonomics, universal design and the changing world of appliances, they must be knowledgable of up-to-date building codes and construction materials, safety rules, environmental regulations, and mechanical and electrical systems including wiring, venting, lighting and plumbing. One must also have the technical skills to create specifications and draw plans that architects, contractors, plumbers, interior designers and electricians can understand.
CKD's work hard to help determine what your goals and requirements are and as a result, your kitchen will reflect your individual needs. Working with a CKD will be a wise investment to your kitchen remodeling project. To receive the rewards of good kitchen design accept no substitutes…choose a Certified Kitchen Designer.
